Coolio in da Sankeys house this Friday!

Sankeys bring the weekend with something of a bang, headlined by none other than hip-hop legend Coolio. Springing out of fellow west coast rapper WC’s clique The Maaaad Circle, Coolio became a bona fide star himself when he flipped the sample of Stevie Wonder’s ‘Pastime Paradise’ for the soundtrack to the Michelle Pfieffer starring Dangerous Minds in 1995.

The result was the monolithic ‘Gangster’s Paradise’ an international smash hit that paved the way for Coolio’s light hearted and fun loving take on a sound that had become synonymous with guns and drug culture. Upstairs, there are further guests from Sankeys’ own firebrand party Continue, including Italian techno fiend Giorgio Gigli and recent RA podcast contributor and bass connoisseur DJ Rum.

Solomun's Essential Mix ahead of this Sat's Kaluki show

Ahead of this Saturday’s Kaluki 6th anniversary party with Solomun, here’s a link to his peerlessly good Radio 1 Essential Mix from July. This is 2 hours of pure electronic goodness to savour. With his weekly Sankeys Ibiza Neon parties taking the club in the White Isle to a new dimension, it’s high time to check out Solomun in Manchester. Don’t miss this Saturday’s party!
