Tasty Berger......
August 19th gave us the penultimate 'Thank F**k it's Friday' of the summer as a stellar line up of DJs was offered up to the clubbing gods.
DUTCH RUDDER's sets as our Friday resident over the summer months have been constantly on point. By tapping into the mindsets of those letting their hair down at the end of the working week and channeling this through the decks and speakers he has proved the perfect antidote to the stresses of your jobs. This week's exhibition was no exception.
Thanks to this hard work the smoke filled main room was primed for the evening's headliners, TUBE AND BERGER, to take to the decks at 1. The German duo took the room by the scruff of the neck by creating an atmosphere that conjored memories of classic Sankeys nights gone by. Dropping loops from tracks such as Mr Oizo's 'Flat Beat', Claude von Stroke's 'Whose Afraid of Detroit' and Timo Maas' mix of 'Dooms Night', those in the room were made to reflect on huge nights from the past couple of decades. The biggest cheer of the night was reserved for T+B's own dance monument 'The Young and the Wild Ones' which was met with a sea of arms in the air.
Proving that the men aren't the only ones who can smash the main room on a Friday we welcomed NATALIE BROGAN to the decks at 3 for a two hour set of underground crowd pleasers including Lucine's 'Two Dots', Felix Da Housecat's remix of Nina Simone's 'Sinnerman' and one of the standout tunes of the summer, Jamie Jone's mix of 'Hungry for the Power'.
Be sure not to miss out out on this Friday's FINAL 'Thank F**k it's Friday of the summer. We will be giving a worthy send off as we present Wolfgang Gartner to the basement for what is sure to be a night to savour.
